Multicultural Aged Care (MAC) has a range of training sessions and webinars coming up.

The Culturally Responsive Practice with Older People in Health and Aged Care course, a program by the Migrant and Refugee Health Partnership, is designed to complement the skills and capabilities of clinicians and health practitioners working in aged care with the knowledge to provide culturally responsive care to older people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.
 Sharing Good Practice from the Sector
''10 Questions to ask'' is part of a series written by nurses, doctors and experts with experience in aged care. The leaflet series aims to make the journey into residential aged care easier for consumers.

Research is currently being conducted by the LOTE Agency as part of a project being undertaken for the Australian Government Department of Health under the Budget measure: Better Connecting with Diverse Audiences.

The research encourages aged care providers to complete a survey designed to help understand issues they face in meeting the communication needs of aged care recipients.

Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS) are seeking volunteers to help seniors in the community with basic technology. AMCS provides free training and ongoing support alongside helpful resource guides and certificates to acknowledge training completion.

Volunteers will also receive a $50 voucher for their contribution.

The Centre for Cultural Diversity in Ageing, supported by Benetas, is happy to partner with the #CelebrateAgedCare campaign. The campaign aims to increase visibility and shine a spotlight on the diversity of the workforce by sharing the profiles and stories of workers who are making a difference.

Workers are encouraged to submit profiles here and share with their colleagues to #CelebrateAgedCare on social media.

Each year the Multicultural Advisory Service puts together a multicultural calendar in partnership with Diversicare and the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland for distribution to service providers.  The calendar also includes significant days such as Harmony day and religious and cultural festivals.

New Practice Guide
Ten Steps to Developing a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Plan in Aged Care

The Centre has launched its new practice guide which aims to support you to think about a step by step approach to creating and implementing a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion plan within your aged care service. The ten-step approach acts as a guide to navigate a complex yet important task aimed at achieving greater choice and control for consumers regarding their care.

We are pleased to announce that we have introduced two more languages to our collection of cards and signs: Hakha Chin and Dzongkha.
